Ask your MP to oppose the end of permanent sanctuary

The UK Government has just announced its latest anti-refugee reforms. These reforms won't fix problems with the asylum system. Nor will they reduce Channel crossings. Instread they will mean the survivors of war, torture and persecution will never feel settled, secure and safe in the UK.

The reforms will:

• Review the claims of people granted protection every two and a half years - and if their home country is deemed safe at any review, they will be deported.
• Require someone to have gone through EIGHT such reviews (yes, a whole TWENTY years) before they can apply for permanent residency
• Restrict appeal rights
• Deny refugees the right to a family, leaving refugee families separated
