Tell your MP: Communities, Not Camps

The UK Government has opened the former military camp at Crowborough to house people seeking asylum - and they plan to open more military camps.

These camps have been used before at Napier, Penally and Wethersfield (which remains open) and all the evidence shows they are bad for people's health and wellbeing.

Many people who will be housed in Crowborough will have survived horrors like torture and modern slavery. For those who have, such camps are unsuitable and retraumatising.

As refugee charities, we are coming together to demand the Government close Crowborough and abandon their plans to open more camps. People should be accommodated in communities, not camps.
